about us

“meet the Bacons” is the acoustic duo of Joe & Robin Bacon and play a variety of rock, country, Americana, folk, reggae and blues in Western New York.
The duo have a sound composed of charming vocal harmonies backed with guitar, harmonica and hand percussion. “meet the Bacons” play songs by others that have intrigued and inspired them over the years, as well as plenty of crowd favorites.
“meet the Bacons" is from Buffalo, NY and play music styles that span classic country, rock, bluegrass, blues and folk (Americana music), drawing influences from great vocal duos such as Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, Simon and Garfunkel, Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris, and Shovels and Rope.
Joe Bacon has played in bands for nearly 40 years and has played on the Comedy Central Network’s Premium Blend syndicated network show with David Alan Grier (In Living Color, Jumanji, Saturday Night Live, My Life With Bonnie, Dancing With The Stars), has performed concerts at New York City’s Carnegie Hall and Symphony Space, and has toured in a van opening for acts such as Run DMC, Smashmouth, Sponge, G. Love and the Special Sauce and Sister Hazel.
Joe and Robin also play together in in the four-piece Americana, Country, Rock, World music band, "The Restless Soles" (Facebook.com/therestlesssoles) and the four-piece Celtic Rock Band, "Poor Ould Goat" (Facebook.com/poorouldgoat)
