"Meet the Bacons" are an acoustic duo that play a mix of original songs and favorite songs by other artists. The song styles are an interesting mix of rock, folk, classic country, bluegrass, blues and Americana music from today and yesterday, with both popular standards and deeper cuts.

 

The duo have strong vocal harmonies with the following instruments: acoustic guitar, harmonica, shakers, and tambourine.

The duo's stage/floor footprint can be as little as 6' x 6' including instruments and sound system (for smaller venues). 

 

"Meet the Bacons" play breweries, bars, clubs, private parties, lounges, festivals, parks and concerts. The duo can captivate a small crowd in a restaurant and capture a large outdoor concert audience.

The duo has played as "meet the bacons" for over 9 years, but have been singing together for over 20 years. Joe Bacon (vocal, guitar, songwriter) has been playing professionally for almost 40 years, with shows at major venues, including Carnegie Hall (Weill recital), NYC Symphony Space, NYC on primetime television as leader/guitarist of the house band for Comedy Central's Premium Blend with David Alan Grier for the 2001 Summer/Fall season; at 103.3 Edgefest festival; Thursday at Lafayette Square concert series, Buffalo, NY; The Bitter End, Greenwich Village; and opening for major acts including Sponge, Sister Hazel, Run DMC, G. Love & the Special Sauce, The Verve Pipe, The Toasters and Moby.
